Leading people is hard enough. You deserve clarity, structure, and support that feels human, without having to pretend, perform, or prove yourself.
For more than 20 years, I worked in Human Resources and People Strategy.
I've sat in the rooms where the hard calls get made. I've coached leaders who were drowning and didn't know how to ask for help. I've watched people promoted into leadership with zero preparation and expected to figure it out on their own.
That's why The People Corner exists.
Not to fix broken managers. Not to launch shiny programs. But to meet people where they actually are and help them lead with more honesty, clarity, and confidence.
Structure without scripts.
Support without fluff.
Real conversations and real growth, because that's the only kind that sticks.
Whether you're a first-time people manager or a VP of HR looking for strategy support, you're not alone here.
This is where we start.
A little more about me, since you asked.
Outside of this work, I volunteer weekly with at-risk youth, and it is some of the most grounding work I do. It keeps me honest about what words like "readiness" and "opportunity" actually mean when someone doesn't have a safety net.
Giving back isn't an afterthought here. It's woven into how I think about all of it.
When I'm not working or volunteering, I'm probably doing at least one of the following: fostering rescue dogs through Safe Hands Rescue (we are a yes house, which my husband has fully accepted), camping with said husband and our two girls, walking the dogs, or talking to my chickens, who are excellent listeners.
I read cookbooks the way most people read novels, genuinely and cover to cover. I'm deep in a sourdough phase that may never end. I shop for clothes almost exclusively on consignment, because the thrill of the find is half the point. And I read, a lot, usually with a dog on my lap and something baking in the background.
Work should actually...work. For the people doing it and the people leading it. That belief doesn't stay at my desk when I close my laptop. It shows up everywhere.
I'm glad you're here.
Our Approach.
People who didn’t get formal leadership training but still want to do right by their teams
Leaders who are trying to grow without burning out
HR teams doing their best to balance strategy and heart
Organizations that want real development, not checkbox programs
Growth beats perfection every time
Clear is kind (just like Brene said)
People don’t need scripts, they need structure
You can lead with both strength and softness
Leadership is personal and so is development
Because people deserve better leaders
Because you shouldn't have to figure this out alone
Because when people grow, companies grow too
Because it’s time to make work… actually work
